How to handle the summary annual report format that corresponds to new

I suppose we have until 12/15 to sort this out for calendar year plans, but how is everyone handling the summary annual report format that corresponds with the "new" 1999 Form 5500 structure? Has anyone seen IRS/DOL guidance or just continuing to use the "old" SAR format (eliminating the "Disclosure" version that corresponded with the 5500-R's)?

Thanks in advance for any comments!

I don't know if this will help you much, but I have also been looking for instructions to help with the SAR this year. I found this in the Federal Register that may help. I am plowing my way through it right now.

See the last page (21085) specifically.

The Federal Register of 4/19/00 (65 FR 21068) contains most of the changes required to the SAR. You will need a copy of the old SAR format as this format either deletes or adds changes based on whether you are filing for a large plan or a small plan.

The 6/5/2000 Federal Register contains changes to the first paragraph by deleting reference to the IRS and adding the reference to the PWBA. It also updated the address for the PWBA in the "Your rights to additional information" paragraph.
