Form 5500 for 1999

What web site has a downloadable 1999 Form 5500 that can be typed on. All of the sites I have found have the revised form that says for information purposes only, do not use for filing. I just need to prepare a simple 5500 for educational tuition reimbursement.

There is no form available at the moment to use. My understanding is that they will not be available until late February or early March. A fine kettle of fish we find ourselves in, isn't it?

Our software provider (Hyperprep) still has not released the forms for use on their system. However, you can call 1-800-TAX-FORM and order for free as many "hand print" forms as you need if you want to get started. These forms would have to be typed or hand printed. It takes about 10 days to 2 weeks for delivery. Be sure you indicate how many of what particular schedules you need (if you say 5500 form, they'll only send you the actual 5500 form without the schedules--it happened to me).

Does anyone recommend a particular Form 5500 software? Last year we paid for a program that didn't work and we ended up typing the forms by hand.

Try PeakOne's HyperPrep at www.peakone.com or www.corbel.com You'll probably need both the R (5500) and Q (SAR) software. A bit pricy but has excellent tech support. Owned by CORBEL which is owned by SunGard. CORBEL site also offers locations for 5500 training.

Thanks, RJM. I will give these a try! The software we used was called SmartForms for Windows. I don't recommend it.
