Guest RJM Posted May 3, 2000 Posted May 3, 2000 We prepare a few hundred 5500 C/R & EZs for clients. What authority - power of attorney, etc. - do we need to E-File for the client?
Guest Emiliano Posted May 4, 2000 Posted May 4, 2000 Each client must file an EFAST-1 form to apply for "electronic signature" code. This is a 25-character code that serves as signature for the electronic Form 5500. The client must provide this code to the transmitter so that the transmitter can file for the client. The electronic transmitter files an EFASR-1 form to apply for an encryption key and transmission key to use when transmitting. For more information you can check out the website at www.efast.dol.gov or call DOL at (202) 219-8819.
