tpa_girl Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 Hi all, We had a plan merge (transfer) their assets from a 401(k) plan to a 457 plan. They were not distributions. The 457 plan does not have a Plan Number so we are receiving an error on the SF about the missing Plan Number when trying to report the transfer under the financial section. Any suggestions on how to handle?
CuseFan Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 If this is a governmental, which is the only situation I could see this being permitted, you shouldn't be filing a 5500. Otherwise, what is the basis for moving qualified 401(k) plan money to a nonqualified 457 plan? Bri 1 Kenneth M. Prell, CEBS, ERPA Vice President, BPAS Actuarial & Pension Services kprell@bpas.com
