KIP KRAUS Posted March 17, 1999 Author Posted March 17, 1999 Does anyone out there know where I can find statistical information on the amount of FICA taxes (nationwide) that are being diverted from the SS system via Cafeteria Plans?
Guest derek Posted March 17, 1999 Posted March 17, 1999 I don't know, but you might try the General Accounting Office (GAO). The new Comptroller of the Currency, David Walker, is very interested in this sort of thing and his staff should be able to direct you to the appropriate research. This information should be available due to recent committees on Social Security and Medicare that have been meeting to discuss reform. [This message has been edited by derek (edited 03-17-99).]
Guest jamesfdavis Posted March 17, 1999 Posted March 17, 1999 Kip, You also might try the Congressional Joint Committee on Taxation. In addition, I think there's an Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Tax Policy whose office models the revenue effects of specific Code provisions and proposals. ------------------ Jim Davis
