Guest kclark Posted May 12, 1999 Posted May 12, 1999 What is the most commonly used practice in determining the effective date of a benefit change request in a qualified life status event? Current regulations state the effective date can be as early as the date of the event or not later than the first of the month following the actual receipt of the enrollment change request as long as it is within the 31 day grace period.
Guest dsilver Posted May 12, 1999 Posted May 12, 1999 I would allow them to change it whenever they wanted as long as it was consistent.
Guest yahoo Posted June 3, 1999 Posted June 3, 1999 What do you do if the employee misses the 31 day grace period for election?
Lisa Hand Posted June 4, 1999 Posted June 4, 1999 They Wait until the next open enrollment to make any changes.
