Lookin for feedback on the 5.0 to 6.0 conversion

Any opinions on 6.0? We're wondering if we should convert soon or wait until the end of busy season next year.

Any feedback positive or negative would be helpful.

Anyone have problems with the conversion?

Anyone have problems with custom reports other than those experienced from the 4.1 to 5.0 conversion?

well, we have been on 6.0 since Sept.

I have noted a few things already about 6.0, so scroll through some of the old notes in this board.

one bug that showed up (and i haven't seen it listed on the Corbel Web Site:

doing splits, sometimes they just don't work on certain people - even though allocation %s are actually entered on the ee. you have to work around by adding a duplicate set of %s with a different effective date. that statement won't make sense until you actually see the changes at 6.0.

no major problems with the crystal reports, although at 5.0 you ight have gotten spoiled by naming the reports greater than 8 characters. while crystal allows this, Qtech won't allow you to use them in the custom folder. 8 characters may eem short, but you can add a description, so in some ways you haven't given up anything.

with svc pack 2, they have added the ADP test in crystal report. I have just finished adding the 'shift' option, and someday soon (I hope) to have them on our website.

I even figured out how to trick the system into calculating the refund using the shift results.

I've modified the correction report to provide 'proof' that plan passes if corrections are made (all you have to do is show the refund under the old rules and compare to the NHCE aggregate. Kind of neat)

anyway, I think I have explained stuff pretty well in some of the propr message on this board. take a look.

we had some problems with the svc pack 2 and actually had to restore the old database before continuing, so be careful and make sure you have that backup!

I would go for it. the sort functions are a lot better, and Crystal 7 is a lot easier to use than Crystal 6.0 was. i think those are the versions.

I would add one further comment. when changing data (e.g census) make sure you 'hop off' the element you changed before going to the next ee. I believe in the past you didn't have to do this, now you have to.
