Guest cbaker Posted September 15, 1999 Posted September 15, 1999 Are all RX eligible for reimbursement thought the medical reimbursement plan? I understand weight loss programs are not, but what about weight loss Rx, Meridia? Is there a list of specific Rx that are eligible? Thank you
SLuskin Posted September 15, 1999 Posted September 15, 1999 No, all prescriptions are not permitted. Examples are "cosmetic" prescriptions like Renova and Retin-A, and one new one, I think Kinerase. Also, Meridia is generally not permitted.
Guest myvettee Posted October 1, 1999 Posted October 1, 1999 In regards to "Not all prescriptions are permitted towards the flex 125k health care spending accounts". Do you have a list of those prescriptions that are not eligible for reimbursement? Could you give me some direction as to where I might find this information? Also, not knowing that not all prescriptions are reimburseable, what does the employer do for those prescriptions previously reimbursed? I have a few that I've reimbursed so far this year. Please advise. Thank You..
Kirk Maldonado Posted October 1, 1999 Posted October 1, 1999 I think that SLUSKIN is confusing what prescriptions are reimbursable under insurance policies and what is an acceptable medical care expense. They are completely unrelated concepts; simply because an insurance company will not reimburse a prescription does not mean that the expense cannot be reimbursed under the medical care reimbursement plan.
