Guest Jet352 Posted January 10, 2001 Posted January 10, 2001 Out of curiousity and also for personal reasons...is there a set time limit by which one can submit their FSA receipts for reimbursement after the close of a plan year for expenses incurred during the year. For example, if I have to pay for child care the last week of the plan year, how much time after the end of the plan year would I have to submit the receipt? Or is this purely built around the actual contract?
Guest lmrice Posted January 11, 2001 Posted January 11, 2001 Our plan states you may submit receipts until 3/31 for the previous year's expenses.
Guest Jet352 Posted January 11, 2001 Posted January 11, 2001 I was thinking 3 months (90 days) as the last two plans I had administered were both the same but don't know if that was in the laws or what. Thanks
Alf Posted January 12, 2001 Posted January 12, 2001 If it helps (no authority, but sometimes there is safety in numbers), we use 90 days as the deadline also.
Lisa Hand Posted January 14, 2001 Posted January 14, 2001 Your Plan document should detail what the close-out period is for your Section 125 Cafeteria Plan. If you did not receive one or have lost the copy you were originally given, the administrator will provide you with an additional copy.
