Guest boberlander Posted March 14, 2001 Posted March 14, 2001 I've had two instances (of two I've reviewed) where the Quantech pre-SBJPA refunds are too much. In other words, where the ADP and/or ACP tests would be satisified by bringing the HCEs to 5.00%, Quantech has brought them down to 4.97% or some other amount less than 5%. Has anyone else had this problem? And informed Quantech and gotten a response? I do not think this is due to rounding. We're using 6.0. I sent the info the Corbel yesterday, but haven't gotten an answer. Thanks.
Guest Posted March 14, 2001 Posted March 14, 2001 can't tell you on that one. If plan has both deferral and match, I have found I can usually 'shift' to reduce the amount of refund, so my results would be different anyway. I rewrote their report to also show the ADP % under the old rules as well. That way I could verify the results. Remember, you do not compare the new results under testing. (My report is available[you are welcome to try it], but it has its own idiosincrecies. I just discovered if you set the system to use statutory exclusions, it prints each HCE twice. so I goofed! someday I will have time to fix it. the results are still correct, they just print twice) the reports are under Custom Reports (web site is LDA-FCPA.com. warning: you must rename the Qtech reports beforehand so you don't lose them (I am assuming you are talking about the new Crystal ADP/ACP reports?) anyway, to allow for use of shift and fake out the system, the ADP/ACP anaylsis report will tell you to enter the NHCE values under prior year and then run the correction report as if the plan was using prior year (even if you aren't). (I suppose I should put on a warning to remember what the actual prior year numbers were, but I did the best I could.)
Guest boberlander Posted March 14, 2001 Posted March 14, 2001 Well, I was wrong. I was basing the new HCE calculation on those employees listed under ADP Correction (where it gives refunds). Quantech support called and we realized that I had missed a couple HCEs in my calculation. Those who would not have had an excess amount pre-leveling method are not listed on the ADP correction sheet (as they are not involved in the calculation of the correction). Thanks for the other information.
Guest Posted March 14, 2001 Posted March 14, 2001 I throw all the HCEs on my version to try to avoid the confusion. the more info you see the better in this case. it is good to hear that it is not a problem with the system. next user group meeting is in Atlanta May 4 - maybe see you then!
