I am looking for some basic and intermediate training on nonqualifed deferred compensation plans. Open to self-study, seminars, videos, etc. Any suggestions?

BNA Tax Management Portfolio 385 is a great resource and covers the subject pretty well.

"Comprehensive Deferred Compensation" by Lou Richey and Larry Brody is also good. It is available from National Underwriters.

The Panel Publishers "Nonqualified Deferred Compensation Answer Book" is also a good learning resource.

The books mentioned are all excellent. I would also pick up "Tax Facts", published by the National Underwriter. Also to put a little plug in for my book published by CCH. "Retain Key Executives: Enhance Your Nonqualified Benefit Plans" (www.cch.com). Also, you can learn alot from study our survey, see http://www.crgworld.com under "publications".

I would also highly recommend Nonqualified Deferred Compensation Plans by Bruce McNeil, Published by West.
