We are on 6.0, DC only but if you look on the "Standard Reports" menu under "Defined Benefit" there is a "FASB 87" report. We don't subscribe to the DB services, so that's the furthest I can direct you!

click on help, and FAS 87 is listed. If you haven't loaded the service packs then it could very well explain why you don't see the reports. we too haven't started using the DB system much, but supposedly they do exist.

I can run the numbers for FAS, but Relius doesn't seem to have an actual report, other than to just spit out the PBO, ABO and Service Cost. Thanks.

I'm sorry dmb, I misunderstood, do you mean the FAS 87 worksheets? I know that at my old employer (where I did the DB work), we actually used an old Lotus program to insert the Pension software generated numbers and prepare all of the worksheets that we provided to the client's accountant. We were using FDP Pension software at the time, (which is now Corbel/Relius) and FDP didn't have a worksheet program either. If you do find a program, can you let me know? Thank you.

Like I said, the program prints out one page with two lines of numbers on it. I am setting up an excel file to print a complete report. Thanks for the input.

If you are on v5.1 or higher, you should be able to find the FASB 87 summary report on the Defined Benefit menu under Reporting. There is also a detailed employee report available, by selecting the Internal Actuarial Data Report on the Reporting|Defined Benefit, and selecting the FASB 87 checkbox at the bottom of the screen.

Once again. The FASB option under Reporting/Defined Benefit screen only generates the FBO, ABO and cost. I was hoping the system could generate a report suitable to send to the employer, but that isn't happening so I made my own. Thanks for the response.

As far as I know the only report that Relius has is the short report that lists the ABO, PBO and Service Costs. I currently use Relius and have been using PENTABS (its predecessor) for many years and that is all they ever had for FAS. I use the FAS reporting package from Datair and input the numbers from Relius. It works well and prepares a standard response to the standard auditors request including all of the worksheets and amortization tables; and it is not too expensive.
