The Affordable Care Act adds many protections related to employment-based group health plans for you and your family. Examples include: coverage of certain preventive services with no co-pay, new rules for wellness programs and filing claims for benefits, a prohibition on pre-existing condition exclusions and lifetime and annual limits, and requiring easy-to-understand summaries of a health plan’s benefits and coverage.
The Affordable Care Act also created a new way to buy health insurance – the Health Insurance Marketplace. The Marketplace helps people who are without health coverage or who are looking to change their coverage find and compare private health insurance options. In the Marketplace, you could be eligible for a tax credit that lowers your monthly premiums and cost-sharing reductions, and you can see what your premium, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs will be before you make a decision to enroll. Open enrollment in the Marketplace ends on February 15, 2015.
This webcast will help you make timely informed decisions about your health coverage. The Department of Labor will discuss the impact of the Affordable Care Act on your employer-based group health plan. The Department of Health and Human Services will provide information on the Marketplace. Join us to find out more about the Affordable Care Act and how to explore your options for health coverage.
