Gain a better understanding of the D.C. Paid Family Leave Law.
On April 7, 2017, the D.C. Universal Paid Leave Amendment Act (D.C. Paid Family Leave) became law. This new law extends Washington, D.C.'s already generous patchwork of leave benefits and imposes new obligations and penalties on employers. Unlike other D.C. laws, it applies to most employers, including ‘small' businesses.
This material will cover what you need to know about D.C. Paid Family Leave, from your company's leave, notice and recordkeeping obligations to the consequences of noncompliance. It will include a review of your current obligations under other D.C. leave laws, such as the D.C. FMLA, and how D.C. Paid Family Leave will and will not change these requirements.
