Amidst the growing crisis involving opioid addiction and other substance abuse, health plans are faced with increasingly challenging questions:

  • What mental health and substance use disorder treatments or services should be covered?
  • What treatments or services must be covered?
  • If treatments or services are covered, on what terms and conditions must they be offered?

All of these raise issues under the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act and its implementing regulations.

In this session, our panel of distinguished speakers will discuss these issues from differing perspectives, including from a regulatory perspective, the perspective of covered individuals, and the perspective of a health plan.
