The Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) grants certain re-employment and benefits rights to an employee who leaves his/her job due to performing duty in uniformed military service. Employers maintaining qualified retirement plans and their advisers must understand the importance of ensuring compliance with the applicable requirements.

This webcast will address important USERRA requirements, including eligibility for USERRA rights, employee notices, “make-up” contributions for returning veterans, special “compensation” and differential pay rules, and plan document provisions.

  • Determine the eligibility requirements for receiving USERRA benefits
  • Compare the rules relating to USERRA employer and employee contribution requirements (“make-up contributions”) for returning veterans
