American Bar Association Joint Committee on Employee Benefits [JCEB]

July 12, 2018
Recorded Online

The ability of private employers to assert religious or moral objections to providing contraceptive coverage may only be the start of attempts to assert such objections to the provision of other employee benefits.

This panel will look at how this trend may affect the provision of medical benefits for transgender employees, legacy pre-Windsor issues for same-sex spouses in pension plans, coverage for same-sex spouses in health plans, fertility benefits for employees in same-sex relationships, and medical marijuana.

Panelists: Jeanne Goldberg, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Washington, DC
Lisa M. Gomez, Cohen, Weiss and Simon LLP, New York, NY
Deborah K. Marcuse, Sanford Heisler Sharp, LLP, Baltimore, MD
Samuel M. Schwartz-Fenwick, Seyfarth Shaw, Chicago, IL
