The Future Is Coming to the DOL: And It's Electronic!

Nov. 19, 2019
Recorded Online

Presented by:

  • Ilene H. Ferenczy, J.D., CPC, APA
  • S. Derrin Watson, JD, APM

In response to an Executive Order, the DOL has proposed sweeping new regulations which will vastly expand the ability of plans to give notices to participants electronically via a notice-and-access style of delivery. Best of all, it is flexible and allows plans to provide notices electronically unless a participant opts out.

Derrin and Ilene will quickly review existing IRS and DOL notice requirements, explain the new proposals, and discuss some of the many open questions on which the DOL wants comments. It’s new, it’s big, and it’s coming to a website near you, with estimated savings to plans of $2.5 billion over 10 years.
