Navigating New Federal Paid Leave Laws in the Wake of COVID-19

Clear Law Institute

Apr. 2, 2020
Recorded Online

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act goes into effect on April 1, 2020. As employers race to comply, they are confronted with an array of new technical and substantive requirements about how, when, and how much paid FMLA and emergency paid sick leave should be provided.

In this practical webinar, you will learn how to navigate the basics requirements of the FFCRA’s sick leave protections.

Upon course completion, you will be able to:

  • Identify covered employers and employees.
  • Determine whether an employee report qualifies as a leave triggering event.
  • Calculate employer upfront exposure for paid leave credit.
  • Spot and avoid technical notice failures and similar missteps.
  • Integrate your knowledge of the FFCRA with the requirements of the federal stimulus legislation passed after FFCRA’s enactment.
