This CLE webinar will provide employee benefits attorneys guidance on current rules and requirements for plan disclosures, notices, and elections. ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) place numerous disclosure, notice, and election requirements for employee benefit plans. The DOL and IRS have issued joint notices and guidance for plan administrators throughout 2020, providing relief for deadlines and other areas impacting employee benefit plans. As the country looks forward to some normalcy, plan administrators need to review their practices and avoid missteps for distributing plan disclosures and notices and for obtaining elections. Any failure to adhere to compliance requirements can result in significant penalties.
