Late last year, the SECURE Act was passed with the hope of increasing Americans’ access to retirement plans and addressing a potential crisis in retirement savings for American workers – an issue which has only been amplified due to the current COVID-19 crisis. Mercer believes that the combination of these events will be a catalyst for a significant reshaping of the retirement landscape. A key objective of the SECURE Act was to facilitate pooled retirement plans: a development that has transformed retirement industries overseas.
