|MINNEAPOLIS, April 19, 2004 — American Express Retirement Services today announced that Kellie Richter has been promoted to vice president of products and marketing, as part of the overall organizational expansion of the Financial Education and Planning Services distribution arm of American Express Retirement Services.
Previously director of asset retention, Richter will now lead the business-to-employee marketing and product development strategy and implementation. Richter also will continue leading the asset retention and co-leading the business strategy for IRA Rollovers across American Express Financial Advisors.

Having been a part of the American Express team since 1990, Richter has served various roles. Prior to her promotion, Richter was director of distribution services and responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of distribution education programs for terminated and retired plan participants at American Express. She also served as the manager of customer loyalty and onsite education where she developed and delivered Advice and Guidance services, electronic communications and financial advisor strategies as well as onsite education for 401(k) participants at American Express. Additional positions Richter held at American Express include field relationship leader, account manager for financial institutions and an acquisition manager in procurement.
