|MINNEAPOLIS, June 2, 2005 - American Express Retirement Services today announced that Greg Buzzell has joined the firm as vice president, sales in the retirement plan and investments distribution arm of American Express Retirement Services. Buzzell will be located in the Boston area and serve the Northeast territory including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine. Buzzell will report to Janet McCune, group vice president.

With sixteen years of institutional distribution experience, Buzzell comes to American Express from Equiserve where he was a national account manager for sales responsible for sales of stock transfer services to the large company marketplace. Prior to Equiserve, Buzzell held posts distributing defined contribution plan services and investments for both CitiStreet and FleetBoston. Buzzell started his sales career at Xerox Corporation where he managed major accounts in specific vertical markets.
