Press release: to Offer Employee Advocate Service for Small and Medium-Sized Companies

Issued by:

Date: Sept. 23, 2010

A day before the first six provisions of President Obama's healthcare reform, the Affordable Care Act, go into effect, a Tampa firm begins offering Healthcare Advocacy Service to employees of small and medium-sized business.

(Vocus) September 22, 2010 -- announced today at HR Tampa 2010, The Society for Human Resource Management annual conference, that it has formally launched its Employee Advocacy Service (EAS) line of business which allows small and medium-sized companies to offer low-cost professional healthcare advocacy services as part of their employee benefits package. With many benefit costs continuing to shift to the employee, advocacy services help employees better understand and manage their healthcare benefits usage.

According to, a recent National Survey of Employer-Sponsored Health Plans found that 53% of large employers (500 or more employees) stated that they offer health advocacy services as part of their benefits package. With layoffs, benefit reductions, and salary freezes dominating news headlines since the beginning of the recession, employers are looking at what kind of relatively small investments, like a healthcare advocacy service, they can make to re-engage employees and add further value to their total benefits offering.

The Employee Advocacy Service Program was launched to provide employees of small and medium-sized companies and their families with access to a comprehensive suite of healthcare advocacy services that, until now, have not typically been available. Expanding on a decade-long history in healthcare, successfully negotiating client savings on medical bills through a proactive audit process with providers and payers, the EAS Program helps participants better understand their health benefits plan and assists with challenges in the following service areas: Medical Billing Disputes, Insurance Denial Appeals, Prescription Drug Pricing Comparison, Diagnosis Research, Health Plan evaluation, Provider Referrals, Provider Fee Negotiating, Case and Care Management, Nursing Home Research and Assisted Living Coordination.

"Given the complex nature of our healthcare system and the current economic climate, the timing is right for small and medium-sized companies to offer healthcare advocacy services to their employees," says Kyle Peterson, Senior Vice President of Business Development for "Our EAS Program offers value to employees and their families through our highly effective suite of services and cost savings to employers by reducing dependence on internal resources for fielding healthcare-related inquiries. Now, small and medium sized employers can be more competitive with their employee benefits package by offering the same healthcare advocacy services as over half of America's large companies do," Mr. Peterson concluded.

The Company's Employee Advocacy Service Program is available immediately with new corporate customers eligible for special incentive offers through December 31, 2010., your personal healthcare navigators and leader in healthcare advocacy services is located in the Westshore business district of Tampa, Florida. You can learn more about and their Employee Advocacy Service (EAS) Program by visiting the Company's website or by calling (813) 418-7000.
