Press release:

Willis Towers Watson Expands Technology and Service Capabilities for its Private Benefit Exchange Solutions

Issued by: Willis Towers Watson

Date: Sept. 20, 2016

New center in Greater Phoenix area will serve thousands of companies nationwide

ARLINGTON, VA, September 20, 2016 — Willis Towers Watson (NASDAQ: WLTW), a leading global advisory, broking and solutions company, has expanded development and support capabilities for its private benefit exchange solutions with the addition of a 92,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art technology and service center in Tempe, AZ.

The service center will house software engineers, quality assurance specialists, product managers, licensed benefit advisors and service representatives dedicated to serving employers and employees who use its private exchange solutions. The center will also support the company’s employee benefit technology-based solutions, including benefits administration outsourcing and consumer-directed account technology and service solutions.

“The new center helps us achieve three important goals as our exchange business grows,” said managing director Gene Wickes, leader of Exchange Solutions for Willis Towers Watson. “One, unifying our exchange development teams will accelerate the implementation of a consistent and seamless user experience across all of our exchange offerings. Two, we will have the space to expand and handle the high-volume of phone calls we receive during the fall annual enrollment period — already over one million and growing — with the same high levels of customer satisfaction we deliver now. Three, we will continue the significant investments already made in cutting-edge call center technology and intensive training that continuously improve the efficiency of our benefit advisors and service representatives.”

In the first 12 months, Willis Towers Watson will add 400 people to its development and service teams in the new center, which is designed to house a total of 800 people over the next few years. With the addition of the Greater Phoenix area center, Exchange Solutions now has more than 5,000 people in 12 U.S. development and service centers focused on employee benefit technology-based solutions.
