Willis Towers Watson Introduces Powerful Pay-for-Performance Diagnostic Tool

Issued by: Willis Towers Watson

Date: May 25, 2017

ARLINGTON, VA, May 25, 2017 — Willis Towers Watson (NASDAQ: WLTW), a leading global advisory, broking and solutions company, has unveiled a powerful tool that enhances their consultants’ capabilities to diagnose the health of a company’s pay-for-performance (P4P) programs. The new tool comes at a time when companies are under growing pressure to strengthen the link between pay and performance for all employees, including, importantly, their executives.

The P4P diagnostic tool is Willis Towers Watson’s latest example of its commitment to helping clients ensure their executive and broad-based employee compensation programs are optimized and delivering the best return on investment. The diagnostic is holistic in that it looks at all P4P programs and is integrated so that it covers all aspects of strategy, design and implementation.

It has four key phases:

  • Collect information on P4P programs.
  • Review data and determine the analyses necessary to support the overall evaluation.
  • Assess the compensation program’s alignment to the Willis Towers Watson P4P guiding principles through a systematic review of the plans and the supporting processes.
  • Highlight recommendations to improve P4P through enhancements in program design, processes and delivery.
“Despite much attention on compensation programs, shareholders, employers and employees alike believe there’s significant room for improvement in P4P strategy and delivery,” said Carole Hathaway, Rewards practice leader at Willis Towers Watson. “This diagnostic tool helps assess the strengths and opportunities for enhancement of a company’s compensation programs with regard to P4P. With companies facing pressure from shareholders, regulators and their employees, we believe this approach will provide the insights employers need to make their P4P programs better fit for purpose and governance.”
