Press release:

HR Policy Association and Its Center On Executive Compensation Announce Pending Leadership Changes

Issued by: HR Policy Association

Date: Oct. 28, 2019

October 25, 2019 -- The HR Policy Board announced several important senior leadership changes, with the appointments in March 2020 of Tim Bartl as Chief Executive Officer of the Association (replacing Dan Yager, who will move into a senior advisory role), and Ani Huang as Chief Executive Officer of HR Policy’s Center On Executive Compensation.

Association Chair Pam Kimmet, Chief Human Resources Officer for Manulife Financial, said: “Tim has a track record of identifying and developing solutions that deliver significant value to our members.  He is a smart, talented leader, and a terrific advocate for the issues facing global employers.  We’re also thrilled to have Ani’s expertise shaping the work of the Center On Executive Compensation.  The Board of Directors looks forward to working with these accomplished leaders.”

Mr. Bartl said "I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to lead the Association.  It is an honor to succeed Dan, my friend and colleague, and I look forward to building on the accomplishments that he and his predecessor Jeff McGuiness achieved.  Thanks to their vision and management, the Association is thriving."

Mr. Yager said, “These last four years in this role have gone very fast and I hope that I have strengthened the successful foundation of the Association established by my predecessor and our founder Jeff McGuiness.  I am proud and confident to be handing over the reins to Tim, so that he can take the Association to the next level as we face a rapidly evolving and very different landscape than the one I have grown up in.  Our members will be in very good hands with this leadership change.”

Ms. Huang said, “From advocating for a more effective link and clearer disclosure of pay and performance to helping to foster better board and CHRO relationships, the Center On Executive Compensation has achieved so much for its Subscribers.  I am looking forward to building on the great work of the Center as we address future challenges and opportunities.”

Mr. Yager will retire and transition to a part-time advisory role focusing on labor and employment policy. These changes will be effective at the Association’s CHRO Summit in March of 2020.
