Press release:

Work Shield’s Workplace Harassment Solution Expands to Full Title VII Protection

Issued by: Work Shield

Date: Dec. 12, 2019

ERISA-qualified solution combines safe reporting platform with Work Shield-certified legal professionals to investigate and bring resolution to workplace harassment and discrimination issues.

DALLAS – Work Shield, the only ERISA-qualified solution that partners with employers to efficiently manage reporting, investigation and resolution of workplace harassment incidents, announced today that its solution has expanded to include all Title VII protections as outlined under the seventh amendment of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title VII.

Title VII includes five major protected classes: race, sex, color, religion and national origin. More recent protections have been added for physical or mental disability and sexual orientation. Title VII prohibits employers from discriminating against employees – whether fired, not hired or promoted, bullied or harassed – based on any of these protected classes. In 2018, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) reported 59,466 workplace discrimination charges under Title VII with 3,546 resulting in costly settlements for the employer.

Work Shield’s comprehensive solution combines a HIPAA-compliant reporting platform with Work Shield-certified legal professionals who investigate every reported harassment or discrimination incident and work in partnership with the employer to establish a clear path to resolution. With the Work Shield solution, employees have access to an immediate and impartial platform to safely voice harassment and discrimination incidents without fear of retaliation, and employers are ensured peace of mind that issues are investigated and resolved efficiently, risk is mitigated and company culture and reputation are protected.

“We have seen that no matter how dedicated an employer is to prevention and training, or how tight they believe their culture is, no company is immune to harassment or discrimination,” said Jared Pope, founder and CEO, Work Shield. “By including full Title VII coverage in our solution, we are giving both the employer and employee confidence that every incident will be heard, investigated and resolved in partnership with Work Shield’s team of specialized, caring professionals.”
