Divorced Spouse Annuity Payable Before Rail Worker Retires

Question 1013: Does a Divorced Spouse have to wait until the rail worker retires before starting to receive a benefit?

Answer: The law was changed a few years ago to permit a Divorced Spouse to start receiving an annuity before the rail worker retires. Both the rail worker and the Divorced Spouse must be at least 62, and must be divorced for at least 2 years.
