Question 1014: How can I apply for a Spouse Annuity when my husband and I live apart and he won't tell me anything? I've contacted the Railroad retirement Board but I cannot get any information.
Answer: All you need to apply for an annuity is your husband's name and his Social Security Number. If he won't give it to you, and you can't find it on personal papers you have (such as a copy of a joint income tax return), you should be able to get help from the Railroad Retirement Board.
