Question 1053: Are there benefits for the survivor of a laid-off worker who has died?
Answer: Survivor Benefits are only payable to certain family members when the deceased rail worker was vested for survivor benefits. If you think you are eligible, you should call the Railroad Retirement Board on their toll-free number: (877) 772-5772.
