Second Wife's Annuity Isn't Deducted from Rail Worker's Annuity

Question 1091: I was granted 1/2 of my ex-husband's Tier 2 benefit in our divorce. Does that come out of his pocket, or from another tier? He's been remarried for 11 years. Will his second wife's Spouse Annuity be deducted from his remaining annuity?
Answer: The rail worker's second wife's Spouse Annuity isn't deducted from his Annuity. The funds come out of the Railroad Retirement Trust Funds.
