Rail Worker At 60 With Working Wife

Question 1095: I am going to retire from the railroad at age 60 with 41 years of service. My spouse will continue to work. will she be eligible for any benefit?
Answer: Your spouse will be eligible for a full Spouse Annuity when she's 60. If she continues to work after age 60, she will lose part of her Tier 1 if her earnings exceed the Annual Earnings Limit (currently $15,480). If she continues to work for the same employer, she also could lose up to 50% of her Tier 2.
