(Posted April 12, 2014)
Question 1122: My husband passed away recently. He was on Railroad Retirement. I am still working. My age is 63. Do I get my Widow's Annuity now?
Answer: You are either eligible for a Widow's Annuity from Railroad Retirement or for a Widow's Insurance Benefit from Social Security.
You should ask the Railroad Retirement Board which benefit you are entitled to as a Widow.
Also tell them how much you are earning so they can project how much you will receive. Their toll-free number is: (877) 772-5772.
