Remarried Widow No Longer Married

Question 1166: I was married to a railroad employee who died at age 48. I remarried when I was 50 to someone who was not a railroad employee. He has died. Am I entitled to any benefit from the first husband? I never received a Social Security benefit from my second husband.
Answer: You may be entitled to a Remarried Widow's Annuity. You should contact the Railroad Retirement Board. Their toll-free number is: (877) 772-5772.
