Benefits for Minor Children of Disabled Rail Worker
(Posted October 6, 2014)
Question 1184: I just was awarded a Total & Permanent Disability by the Railroad Retirement Board. Does my minor child receive any benefits?
Answer: Railroad Retirement does not provide direct benefits for minor children. Instead, if you are found to be disabled under the Social Security criteria, your disability annuity could be increased under the Special Guaranty provision to include a monthly benefit for your child.
