A Plan to Maximize Retirement Benefits
(Posted October 28, 2014)
Question 1205: I am not dual benefit vested prior to 1974, but I have over 10 years of rail service and also have paid into Social Security for the last 30-plus years. Am I able to apply for Social Security at age 66 while letting my RRB continue to grow until age 70 and then switch to the higher benefit under RRB?
Answer: Sounds like a very sound plan!
