Keeping The RRB Informed Under A Divorce Settlement

(Posted July 4, 2003)

Question 282: I was married to a rail worker for 13 years. We divorced and I was awarded a share of his benefits. I was told to keep the RRB informed of my address changes so they will know where to send my monthly payments when he retires. Unforturnately, I lost the address several years ago. Can you help me?

Answer: You can send the information to:

Office of General Counsel
U.S. Railroad Retirement Board
844 North Rush St.
Chicago, IL 60611

Be sure to included your former husband's full name and his Social Security number.
