Finding Monthly Payment Dates
(Posted January 13, 2006)
Question 565: What web site do I go to for the direct deposit dates?
Answer: Railroad Retirement Benefits are paid on the first business day of each month. Saturday, Sunday and Federal legal holidays are not considered regular business days.
Benefits paid by Direct Deposit are required to be in the depositor's account before the financial institution opens for business on the payment date. Often, the funds are actually deposited and available before that date because of the timing of the financial institution's computer operations.
You can go to the Railroad Retirement Board's web site at:
and click on "Benefit Information." You will find a listing of the actual payment dates for the next two years.
