Multiple Retirement Payments
(Posted May 7, 2007)
Question 624: Are Amtrak's Retirement Income Plan and Railroad Retirement paid seperately? When I retire, will I be able to get one check from Amtrak, a second check from Railroad Retirement and a third one from Social Security ?
Answer: Payments from Amtrak's Retirement Income Plan are separate from any Railroad Retirement or Social Security you are entitled to receive. Usually, Railroad Retirement & Social Security are combined into one monthly payment made by the Railroad Retirement Board.
