Stop, Look & Listen: Railroad Retirement Benefits Q&A

Answers are provided by Robert S. Kaufman

Early Retirement Offer By Burlington Northern-Santa Fe

(Posted November 25, 2008)

Question 678: Is the BNSF considering to offer early retirements for employees with 30 or more years of service?

Answer: I'm sorry but I don't have any information about early retirement offers by individual railroads. Those offers are not part of the Federal Railroad Retirement program.

I suggest you either contact the BNSF directly or talk to your brotherhood repersentatives. You can call the railroad's Fort Worth Texas headquarters toll free at (800) 795-2673.
