Will There Be A Cost-of-Living Adjustment in January 2011?
(Posted September 13, 2010)
Question 770: Will there be a cost-of-living adjustment in January 2011?
Answer: It's a little too early to know.
Under the law, the cost-of-living in the 3rd quarter(July, August and September) of 2010 is compared to the 3rd quarter in 2009. The results are announced in October 2010.
All signs point to no cost-of-living adjustment this January -- the second straight year that will have happened.
