Filing For Disabled Child's Annuity

Question 840: How long does the application process take for a disabled child's claim? The child will be taken care of by the spouse of the retired rail worker. The application was submitted in July 2011.The child has been disabled since birth.
Answer: It may take the Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) several months to secure the necessary evidence to evaluate the child's medical condition.
