Filing For Disability Annuity

Question 841: Must I inform my railroad employer before I can file for a disability annuity?

Answer: No! The Railroad Retirement Board will notify your last railroad employer after you file your application. They also will ask your employer to confirm the last day that you worked and whether your condition disqualifies you for further employment.
