Tier 2 Payments To Divorced Spouse Continue Following Remarriage
(Posted February 26, 2012)
Question 858: I have a question about the information in Question #856. If a divorced spouse is awarded a portion of Tier 2 by a divorce decree and she gets married again, does she still continue to receive her portion of Tier 2?
Answer: The partition of Tier 2 in divorce is permanent, assuming the order does not provide otherwise. If the former spouse later remarries, Tier 2 payments will continue to the former spouse.
