How to Find Nearest RRB Office Using the Web
(Posted December 7, 1997)
Question 9: I have a friend who left the Denver Rio Grande & Western RR in 1950. I heard on a TV talk show that he might be qualified for Railroad Retirement benefits. How can I help him find out if he's eligible for anything?
Answer: You can put him in touch with the nearest office of the U.S. Railroad Retirement Board (RRB).
To find the office serving the area in which your friend lives, go to the RRB WEB site at www.rrb.gov (click here).
Before you write or call the RRB, be sure that your friend has his Social Security Number and any other documents pertaining to his rail work.
