Healthcare Reform Compliance for Employee Benefits: Required Plan Changes, Limiting Exposure, Transparency RulesStrafford |
Apr. 22, 2020 Recorded Online Webinar |
ACA Rules and Regulations Updates, Recent State Insurance Mandates, Pay or Play, PCORI Fees, Other ACA Taxes and Fees This webinar will guide ERISA counsel, plan sponsors, and administrators on critical issues and requirements stemming from recent healthcare reform impacting employee benefits. The panel will discuss updates regarding ACA rules and regulations, recent state insurance mandates, necessary plan changes, compliance initiatives for pay or play, new proposed transparency in coverage and model notice rules, and other critical challenges for ensuring compliance with healthcare reform for employee benefit plans. Employers providing health and welfare benefits to employees are subject to both federal and state rules and regulations. To ensure that benefit plans align with current rules and regulations, benefits counsel must grasp a complete understanding of any healthcare reform to ensure compliance and avoid potential penalties or litigation. Employers need to be aware of several healthcare regulatory changes that will impact employee health benefits in 2020. The ACA rules contain comprehensive health insurance reforms and include tax provisions that affect individuals, families, businesses, insurers, tax-exempt organizations, and government entities. Despite repeal of the individual mandate penalty of the ACA, the remaining provisions still apply. However, some states have enacted individual insurance mandate laws. Changes in preventive care benefits, proposed transparency rules in coverage and model notice, changes in ACA's affordability percentage, and other issues also hinder compliance with healthcare laws. Listen as our panel discusses updates to ACA rules and regulations, recent state insurance mandates, and other compliance issues impacting health and welfare benefit plans. Outline:
