Pension Derisking: Fresh Opportunities in a Stronger Funded World

Pensions & Investments

Oct. 8, 2024 - Oct. 9, 2024
Georgia

As corporate pension plans enjoy stronger funded status — with several plans being fully-funded or overfunded — it has become more feasible to explore and implement derisking solutions. Hibernation strategies are aimed at reducing the investment portfolio’s risk exposures and pursuing allocations that enable more stability in funded status. Termination transfers the plan’s beneficiary obligations off the balance sheet via an annuity purchase by an insurer.

This redesigned conference, which was previously titled ‘Managing Pension Risk & Liabilities’, reflects the current state of pension plans and their priorities today. It takes a deep dive into both approaches – hibernation and termination – across a day and a half of sessions with panels, presentations, interactive discussions, and keynotes. Attendees will also access the latest thinking on the market environment, comparative trends, and broader issues in pension derisking.
