Snell & Wilmer [Guidance Overview] Apr. 23, 2010 Excerpt: Beginning in 2011, certain employers will be eligible to receive federal grants to provide their employees with access to comprehensive workplace wellness programs. A wellness program must include the following components to be eligible for funding: (i) health awareness initiatives; (ii) efforts to maximize employee engagement in the program; (iii) initiatives to change unhealthy behaviors; and (iv) supportive environment efforts to encourage healthy lifestyle choices. Funding is available to employers with less than 100 employees who did not provide a workplace wellness program as of March 23, 2010. |
