Solo Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 I have failed to file form 5500ez for 10+ years. I always assumed my accountant took care of it. Can I qualify for the max fine of $1500 through the penalty relief program? Also would i have to file a seperate return for every year my account was $250k?
Mike Preston Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 Yes. Yes. Make sure you file them all at once to avoid having to pay more than $1, 500.
pxisright5 Posted February 28, 2022 Posted February 28, 2022 You don't need much info for the 5500-EZ filings but you do need some. How do you file if you don't have beginning of year and end of year asset balances for some of the much older years? Seems like I remember IRS would accept informational reports for the older years as long as you had complete reports for the more recent years. Is that still the rule or was it ever?
